Getting there!

I’m a week in having this website up and running and with the help of the incredible BroknKing on Twitch streaming my site for a few minutes, I managed to get my first sale! (Thank you guys!) However, getting my first sale through here created a brand new challenge for me. Fighting with my printer, lol.

I had gotten my first sale while at work and was so excited to come home and start packing it up immediately. I grabbed my bubble mailers and tissue paper I’ve had for over a year, wrote up my little thank you card and packed it all up. Hopped onto the computer, bought the packing slip and went to print it, and the printer did nothing! I stared in confusion, but remembered we just organized our cables so maybe something didn’t get plugged in right. Nope, everything’s plugged in. Try again, printer says it’s offline. Literally trying everything to get this thing to connect when I finally google the error code its giving me which meant “low ink.” No idea how it could have low in when we just replaced it but it’s cool, we have spare ink. Replaced it and whaddaya know? It connects! Then it prints out test page after test page using all of the paper I put in there that I had to borrow from my mom’s fiancé because I didn’t even have normal paper, I had A5 bullet journal paper in there LOL. I FINALLY manage to get the shipping label to print and it’s too big for the bubble mailer… I try one more time, sizing it down, and it fit perfectly. I get it attached to the bubble mailer just to realize… I sealed the mailer without putting the dang receipt inside it.

I was using much foul language at this point. I rip open the mailer, repack a new one, PRINT the receipt, stick it in the thank you card, print ANOTHER shipping label, and finally the order was packaged and ready to ship. So to my anonymous buyer, basically literal tears went into packing your order so I hope it showed up in one piece or I might actually scream LOL.

This was a great lesson for me though, I know how I need to package my future products, and how to print the labels, and that I probably need to smash this printer and get one of those eco tank ones because this one just eats ink, haha.
